USA Patriots Amputee Softball Team Reunites with Kids Campers for 2024 Alumni Camp in Adrian, MI

The USA Patriots Amputee Softball Team and Kids Campers have arrived in Adrian, MI, for the highly anticipated 2024 Alumni Camp. This special event was born out of the campers’ desire to reunite with their mentors and friends after years of successful mentorship. The Alumni Camp offers a unique opportunity to enhance softball skills while fostering a sense of community among individuals who share similar experiences.

We are thrilled to incorporate the Alumni Camp into the Kids Camp Annual Fund, making it an integral part of our program. This year, eight generations of campers will join the USA Patriots to refine their softball techniques, engage in local community activities, and culminate the camp with a thrilling Camper game, followed by an exciting match between the USA Patriots and Moonie’s Goonies.

Practice sessions will commence tomorrow, August 8, and continue on Friday, August 9, at Adrian College’s Nicolay Field. On

Saturday, August 10, we will celebrate Gameday with opening ceremonies starting at 5:00 pm. Tonight, the team and campers received a warm welcome at the Adrian Eagles #2371. They were treated to a delightful dinner and received goody bags, generously provided by the Adrian Eagles Lady Auxiliary and the American Legion Post 97 Auxiliary. This meet-and-greet event set a positive tone for the days ahead, promising a memorable and enriching experience for all participants.

The schedule ensures that participants have a balanced mix of practice, relaxation, community engagement, and fun activities, culminating in an exciting game day

Game Day Schedule

AUGUST 10th – GAME DAY!!

Evening:

• 3:00 pm: Escort to Adrian College Nicolay Field, escorted by the American Legion Riders, the Jeepers, 40/8 Train, and APD.
• 5:00 pm: Opening Ceremonies.
• 5:15 pm: Game 1 – Alumni Kid’s Game.
• 20 minutes after Game 1: Game 2 – USA Patriots Game (Draft Style with Moonie’s Goonies).
• After Games: Closing ceremony, pictures.
• Dinner: Grab food from the Food Trucks after the games.
