Bio

Sergeant First Class (Retired) Jeff Hackett was born in 1973 and is from West Haven, Connecticut. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1994 and has two combat tours to Afghanistan and deployments to Kosovo, and Haiti. While Deployed to Afghanistan in 2011 serving as an Advisor/Trainer to the Afghanistan National Police, he stepped on an Improvised Explosive Device that resulted in an above the knee amputation and loss of the back of his right arm. SFC (Retired) Hackett has been awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation medal (4), Army Achievement Medal (5), Army Good Conduct Medal, and the Combat Action Badge. Jeff retired in 2013 and currently resides in Stanton, Michigan. Jeff owns a photography business called Combat Vet Photography.
